WHAT IS NARWHALE PDX?
Narwhale PDX is a new event space available for a variety of community events, including weddings, assemblies, concerts, children’s performance and many other creative gatherings!Narwhale PDX has become a community center for a diverse gathering of Portlanders. We are a dynamic hub for the entire community of Northeast Portland. 

WHO USES NARWHALE PDX?
Our open and all-embracing vitality has created a wonderfully welcoming place. Narwhale PDX is considered “home” by many different community groups. Here is a select list of building partners. 

WHAT KIND OF SPACES ARE AVAILABLE?
Narwhale PDX manages a variety of spaces, from a sanctuary suitable for sacred events to a large parish hall, a soon-to-be-renovated full kitchen and a variety of meeting rooms and performances spaces. Learn more about our spaces here.

HOW DO I GET ACCESS TO THE BUILDING?
Our event calendar fills up nearly every month, with community groups across the building. Venues are available for short-term, long-term, or single-day events. Visit our Book a Space page.

WHAT IS NARWHALE PDX ABOUT?
Narwhale PDX is only about welcoming people to a shared community space. We manage our space for a wide variety of partners, and we do not permit harassment on our premises. We support sexually and gender-diverse groups and support our BIPOC community. Black lives matter. 

IS THE BUILDING SAFE?
The building owners ensure that they are in compliance with all current safety regulations and we recently completed a complete Portland Fire Department inspection, conditional use permit for overnight stays and we did a complete upgrade to modern fire protection systems in 2023.

HOW OLD IS THE BUILDING?
The building was built in 1952 and has been continuously occupied ever since. Read the history of the building. 

WHO CREATED NARWHALE PDX?
Narwhale PDX is built on the foundation of the goodwill of the community of St. David of Wales, a progressive church community. The church continues to share the space with our many building partners.
